Hello,I'm having trouble installing an Windows 64Bit midi Roland UM1-G driver on my Windows 10 x64 PC. I'm trying to install it with my SwisSonic midi controller which is not officially supported by windows.
However i always managed to have it run on my pc (theexact same one i'm trying to install it on right now) using the Roland drivers. However since i'm using Windows 10 i'm not able to install the driver's i always used. Currently im trying to install the windows 8.1 roland drivers but i keep getting this error message:This is when trying the 'Have Disk' install option in Device Manager. The driver's are 100% certainly 64 bit, and they are also 100% compatible with my Midi- Controller.I heard something about changing the.inf file so it will be compatible, if you think this would be the case, please be so kind to share how to do that with me.If anyone know's the solution that would be great!Sincerely,My basic PC specs.
Hi,Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community. We understand the inconvenience caused and will assist you.I suggest you to install the drivers in compatibility mode by following the steps provided below and check if it helps. Right click on the setup file of the driver and select“Properties”. Select “Compatibility” Tab.
Place a check mark next to “Run this program in Compatibility mode” and select operating system (8.1) from the drop down list. Let the driver install and then check the functionality.Hope this helps. Keep us posted on the status for further assistance. I managed to fix this problem myself,1. First i disabled Signature Vertification on drivers2. Then i changed everything in the.inf file with NTamd64 to - NTamd64.6.33.
Then i changed everything in the.inf file with NTamd64.6.2 to - NTamd64.6.3 (the other NTamd versions you must keep the way they are)4. Then i rebooted in the mode in which you driver's aren't verificated5. Then i selected disk - folder with.inf fileI then installed, and the driver has been working like a charm ever since. This is just a quick summary, if anyone need's help with this problem i'll be happy to guide them trough.
